This document describes privacy and security policies and practices for Shakespeare Company Electronic Products Group websites.  Other Shakespeare companies may have their own policies and procedures.

1. Information We Collect.

   A. Within our forms for online user input, we may request your name, address, phone number, email address and other data pertinent to the fulfillment of your requests for catalogs and other information, or orders for merchandise.

   B. If you are ordering products on our Secure Server, we require some of this information and request additional information such as billing address, credit card number, type, card billing address, and expiry.
   

   C. For certain Shakespeare dealer related information gathering functions, we may also request or require other information regarding dealerships - such as geographical identifiers (like area codes, zipcodes, and lat/lon information) for area(s) served, type of business (retail/wholesale), telephone numbers, email addreses, and website URL's.
   

2. Our Use of This Information.

   We use the personal identity information that we collect about you within our marketing, customer service, and website maintenance departments to fill your requests for information and catalogs, to verify your charge and purchasing information and authority, to fill your orders for products and receive payment for them according to your instructions, and to electronically deliver information to you that you have requested (such as answers to technical support questions).

   We use your email address, your mailing address, your fax number, or your phone number to contact you regarding Shakespeare products on which you have requested information, or regarding events such as trade shows which relate to your interest.  Shakespeare's authorized dealers/distributors may be provided this information as needed, to follow up your requests.  If you request information about Shakespeare products, such as fishing tackle, that are not directly related to the Electronic Products Group, your information may be forwarded to another company within the Shakespeare family via email, or by paper or electronic reports.
   

   Some information collected from Shakespeare marine products dealers may be included in our "Find a Dealer Near You" database, which is public, and searchable online.
   

3. Our Storage of Information About You.

   We store the information we might reasonably need to follow up your orders and requests.  After filling your order, we remove your credit card numbers and credit card expiration dates from our web-based electronic databases; however, this information may then be stored for a reasonable time in our corporate computer systems.  Information request data (name, address, etc.) are purged when the requested catalogs are sent out; however, our sales managers, webmaster, web hosts, and dealer/distributors may maintain data indefinitely for future followup by phone, email, or fax, and for accumulation of website usage data.
   

4. Who Has Access.

   Shakespeare Electronic Products Group customarily limits information access to the people who have direct need for the information, such as for filling orders, sending out catalogs, or answering your questions about our products.  In addition, the webmaster and website maintenance staff have access to all such information.  Dealer supplied information for the "Find a Dealer Near You" database is available to the public from the Shakespeare marine products websites.
   

5. Our Disclosure of Your Information.

   Shakespeare Electronic Products Group does not sell or rent any personally identifiable information about you.  We do not supply your information to any third parties other than dealers/distributors for our products, for the purpose of email advertising, marketing or promotion, neither electronic nor otherwise.

   We do not assemble mailing lists, email lists, fax lists, or other data for use by anyone outside the Shakespeare family of companies.  However, for some product lines, we may forward your information to our authorized dealers and distributors for fulfillment and followup of your requests for catalogs, information, or sales contact.

   Shakespeare does cooperate with all law enforcement inquires.  We can disclose information about you and your use of our websites to law enforcement or other bona fide government officials (Departments of Defense, Justice, Commerce, etc.) as we, in our sole judgment, believe to be appropriate.
   

6. Security

   To safeguard confidential ordering information like credit card numbers, we employ industry standard measures such as Secure Socket Layers (SSL) and certified secure servers.  After initial use, your charge card information is not stored on our webservers, and the complete card number never exists in one place.   However, "perfect security" does not exist on the Internet.

   Although we limit access to your information and store only the information we might reasonably need, automated backup systems can result in more permanent storage of the information, and we therefore cannot guarantee that all of your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in ways not described in this Privacy Policy.  For example, we may be forced to disclose information to government or third parties under certain circumstances, or third parties may unlawfully intercept web transmissions without our knowledge or permission.  Therefore, although we do our best to use industry standard practices to protect your privacy, and although we limit the use we make of information you provide us, we do not promise and you should not expect that your information will forever remain private.
